The Italian will join team-mate Nicky Hayden at the traditional event in Madonna di Campiglio this week, where the Bologna factoryís 2011 MotoGP project will be officially presented.

Ducatiís 2011 MotoGP project will be officially presented this week at Madonna di Campiglio, with the celebration of the traditional Wrooom event. The gathering, which takes place at the Italian ski resort at the turn of each new year, will offer media and fans a first sighting of Valentino Rossi in Ducati red as the Italian joins team-mate Nicky Hayden for the week-long programme.

The riders, guests and media will arrive on Monday evening after which a busy schedule will commence. On Tuesday morning both Hayden and Rossi will be the focus of attention as they field questions from the gathered press in individual press conferences, following which they will pose for photographs with Team Manager Vittoriano Guareschi and then meet fans.

Then on Wednesday it will be the turn of Claudio Domenicali, boss of Ducati Corse, to answer enquiries about the new GP11 prototype after which the 2011 machine will be unveiled. Joining the MotoGP riders during the week will be Scuderia Ferrari drivers Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa, who will be on hand to present the Italian Formula 1 teamís 2011 car.

On Friday a ski race and exhibition event on the iced lake involving both the MotoGP and F1 representatives will conclude the 21st edition of Wrooom, although Rossiís participation in the activities is likely to be limited by his continuing recovery from shoulder surgery.

Video footage from the 2011 Wrooom event will be available on motogp.com daily throughout the week

Bad weather postpones Wrooom opening

Bad weather at Madonna di Campiglio, Italy, has forced the postponement of Monday evening's opening ceremony for the 2011 Wrooom Ferrari/Ducati Press Ski Meeting.

However, new Ducati Marlboro rider Valentino Rossi and team-mate Nicky Hayden (along with Ferrari F1 drivers Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa) have arrived in the Dolomites.

Rossi's 'official presentation' as a Ducati rider will take place as planned on Tuesday morning, when the Italian superstar takes part in a press conference.

Fellow former world champion Hayden, preparing to start his third season at Ducati, will also speak to the media before the delayed opening ceremony takes place tomorrow evening.

The official unveiling of the 2011 Desmosedici GP11 will be held on Wednesday.

Valentino Rossi to make first official appearance for Ducati.

Seven time MotoGP world champion Valentino Rossi will make his first public appearance in Ducati red during this week's Wrooom Press Ski Meeting.

Shared with the Ferrari F1 team, the annual event begins at Madonna di Campiglio in Italy this (Monday) evening, but most interest will come on Tuesday, when Rossi - like team-mate Nicky Hayden - takes part in a press conference.

Rossi made his Ducati debut in plain black colours at the Valencia test in November, but Tuesday will mark the first time that the 31-year-old Italian - aiming to become the first 500cc/MotoGP rider to win titles with three different manufacturers - speaks publically about the Desmosedici.

Wednesday will see the Desmosedici GP11 officially unveiled in its full 2011 racing colours and the turn of Ducati management to face the press. Ferrari then dominate Thursday's official activities, before Friday's final day sees exhibition races between the two and four-wheel competitors.

Rossi, who suffered shoulder and leg injuries - and lost his title to Yamaha team-mateJorge Lorenzo - last season, will ride in full Ducati colours for the first time when the opening test of 2011 is held at Sepang in Malaysia from February 1-3.
